How to Measure for a Seat Cushion

If you already have a seat cushion that you're wanting to replace or wanting new custom cushions for a chair , follow these steps:

Step 1:

Measure the width and depth of your current chair seat. Do NOT measure your existing cushion. If you measure using your existing cushion it can measure very differently from what you need especially if it's been stretched out and worn. Using a firm measuring tape, you can get a precise measurement. Remember, you will need to round up or round down to the nearest 1/2 inch. For example, if you measure a cushion that is 16 7/8 inches, you will need to round up to 17 inches or round down to 16 1/2 inches, since we make cushions in half inch increments.

Step 2:

When choosing the thickness you want, make sure to measure by 1-inch increments. (Available from 2 inches to 8 inches)

Note:

If you're going to purchase separate seat and back cushions, please remember to subtract the thickness of the bottom of the cushion from the height of the back cushion.

Any unusual cushions, or cushions that do not meet our standard shapes online, will require a template. Click on "How to Make a Template" for more information.
